Lieutenant Gulliver Jones of the United States Navy unrolls a mysterious carpet in New York and finds himself carried to Mars. Among the languid, pleasure-loving Hither people he falls in love with the princess Heru, and when she is carried off by the barbarian Thither people he sets out across a strange planet of rivers, forests and ruined cities to rescue her.
A 1905 planetary romance often seen as a forerunner of Edgar Rice Burroughs’s Mars books. Download the free EPUB.
