Prepared for students at Maynooth who no longer had time for the great Latin commentaries, MacRory’s work prints the Vulgate and the Douay English verse by verse with concise notes on meaning, difficulties and Catholic interpretation. An introduction treats authorship and purpose, and the notes follow the Gospel from the Prologue through the raising of Lazarus to the Passion.
