In 1581 the hunted Jesuit Edmund Campion had his Latin Decem Rationes secretly printed and laid on the benches of the university church at Oxford, daring Protestant scholars to debate him. This edition gives the Latin with an English translation and an introduction on the man, his mission, his famous challenge to the Privy Council and the printing.
A key document of Elizabethan Catholicism, written months before Campion’s execution. Download the free EPUB.
