Prayers Written at Vailima

IV

The steerin’ mither strang afit
Noo shoos the bairnies but a bit;
Noo cries them ben, their Sinday shüit
         To scart upon them,
Or sweeties in their pouch to pit,
         Wi’ blessin’s on them.
