Bill, the Sentimental Bloke, now settled on his little farm, tells in Australian slang verse the story of his neighbour Digger Smith, a soldier returned from the war missing a leg. Dad Flood, Jim’s girl and the folk over the fence make up the community that helps the digger find his feet again, while his yarns recall mates who never came home.
A tender, funny and moving verse tale from the poet of The Songs of a Sentimental Bloke, dedicated to the AIF. Download the free EPUB.
