Matthews gathered verse by English and American poets on the love of books: a baby in the library, the art of book-keeping (that is, of not lending), a favourite Shakespeare, bookworms, Elzevirs, Aldines and the sorrows of collectors. His prefatory note recalls Charles Lamb hauling home a Beaumont and Fletcher folio.
A delightful anthology for bibliophiles and anyone with more books than shelves. Download the free EPUB.
