Between Christmas and New Year in a comfortable West End house, the Culver family, their journalist friend Tranto and the editor Sampson Straight are thrown into argument when the question of a title comes up. Mrs Culver is keen, the children are scornful, and Bennett lets the quarrel play out over three crisp, talkative acts in a single sitting-room.
A witty jab at the honours system from the author of The Old Wives’ Tale, quick to read and easy to stage. Download the free EPUB.
