Housman imagines the private life of the Victorian age in a series of short plays. Queen Victoria receives Disraeli and Gladstone, the great statesmen are seen in their unguarded moments, and in the companion pieces middle-class sisters and aunts arrange flowers, quarrel politely and keep up the proprieties of a world that is passing.
Affectionate, sharp-eyed comedy from the dramatist of Victoria Regina, a treat for anyone fond of the period. Download the free EPUB.
