The Canadian poet Florence Randal Livesay translated these songs into English verse. They include pagan seasonal songs for Kupalo and Vesnianka, children’s spring songs, a wedding song cycle and love songs such as The Two Lovers and The Broken Engagement, introduced by the Ukrainian writer Pavlo Krat.
