In the Indiana backwoods a farmer’s daughter falls in love with a young German, to her family’s fury, just as preachers of the Millerite movement announce that the world will end. The neighbourhood fills with believers, a backwoods philosopher, a new singing-master and a would-be lynch mob, all rendered in comic Hoosier dialect.
Homely frontier humour and romance from the author of The Hoosier Schoolmaster. Download the free EPUB.
