On the brink of marriage, the narrator gives up smoking and looks back on his bachelor days: his first cigar, his pipes, his pouch and smoking-table, and above all the Arcadia Mixture, a tobacco so fine that he and his friends Gilray, Marriot, Scrymgeour and the rest guard its source jealously. Each chapter is a small comic sketch.
Early Barrie, written before Peter Pan, with all his whimsy and gentle self-mockery on display. Download the free EPUB.
