The great tapestries that hung in the House of Lords showed the English and Spanish fleets engaged in the summer of 1588. John Pine engraved them, with an account of the invasion and an explanation of each scene and its border of medals and portraits, and this 1878 edition adds sketches of the commanders knighted at sea by the Lord High Admiral.
