Born in Damme the same day as the future Philip II, Tyl Ulenspiegel grows into a vagabond trickster wandering Flanders with his fat friend Lamme Goedzak and leaving his sweetheart Nele behind. When the Inquisition burns his father Claes, the jester’s pranks turn to resistance, and he joins the Beggars fighting the Spanish occupation of the Low Countries.
