Beltane lives alone in a forest glade near the minster of Mortain, a huge, gentle young smith who knows every bird and herb and has been taught by an old hermit. A meeting with the cruel Duke Black Ivo and with Helen the Proud draws him out of the greenwood into a medieval world of outlaws, friars, pilgrims and open rebellion.
Full-blooded chivalric romance in Farnol’s archaic style, for readers who enjoy Robin Hood and the novels of Howard Pyle. Download the free EPUB.
