In 1903 Leonidas Hubbard died of starvation trying to cross the interior of Labrador. Two years later his widow, Mina, led her own canoe expedition to finish his work, climbing rapids and travelling by Seal Lake and Lake Michikamau to map the Naskaupi and George rivers. The book includes her husband’s diary and George Elson’s account of his last days.
A landmark of women’s exploration and a moving act of loyalty, told plainly and well. Download the free EPUB.
