Perry sketches a system of ethics in which morality is simply the organisation of life: interests brought into harmony so that each can be fulfilled. Avoiding the traditional textbook approach, he applies this idea to progress, the struggle with nature, society, art and the moral justification of religion.
A clear, humane work by the philosopher who later won the Pulitzer Prize for his life of William James. Download the free EPUB.
