Hatim of the tribe of Tai, the Arabian prince whose generosity became proverbial, takes up seven riddles set by the beautiful Husn Banu so that a lovesick friend may win her hand. Each quest sends him through deserts, enchanted lands, the realms of fairies and demons, and encounters with kings and queens, in the manner of The Arabian Nights.
