In the days of Henry the Second, a young archer is outlawed and takes to Sherwood Forest. The chapters follow the old ballads: how Robin met Little John on a log bridge, turned butcher to fool the Sheriff of Nottingham, met Will Scarlet and Friar Tuck, helped Allan-a-Dale wed his love, fought Guy of Gisborne and shot in the king’s tourney.
A brisk, faithful retelling of the ballad tales for young readers, with snatches of the old verse. Download the free EPUB.
