James Ruan lies in his great bed awaiting both his marriage and his death, and from that strange Cornish deathbed wedding the novel follows his son Ishmael and the family farm across the decades. It is a story of land, inheritance, love and pagan feeling for the countryside, as the new head of the house tries to hold together his family, his farm and his own desires.
A rich, sensuous regional saga by the great-niece of Tennyson. Download the free EPUB.
