The last of Hewlett’s three novels about John Senhouse, a gentle, unworldly philosopher who lives out of doors, planting wild flowers along the hedges of England. Sanchia Percival, bruised by an unhappy entanglement, returns to her family and the stately world of Wanless Hall, while Senhouse camps nearby, and the two must decide whether conventional life or his freer way can hold them.
A graceful Edwardian comedy of manners and ideals about freedom, nature and marriage. Download the free EPUB.
