Installed as Rector of St Andrews University, with Field Marshal Haig as chancellor beside him, Barrie spoke to the students about courage, the young generation that had fought the war, and the old men who had sent them. The address mixes whimsy, memory and urgent advice to take a hand in the world.
A short, famous speech, gentle and pointed by turns, from the author of Peter Pan. Download the free EPUB.
