Sir James Willoughby Pitt, a bored young baronet, wagers that he could carry out a burglary and soon falls in with a genuine small-time crook, Spike Mullins. Before long Jimmy is a guest at Dreever Castle, where a gem-collecting host, an ex-policeman with a pretty daughter and a round of country-house theatricals put his honesty and his nerve to the test.
Early Wodehouse in its original magazine form, later revised as A Gentleman of Leisure, for fans of his country-house comedies. Download the free EPUB.
