Clement J. Cleggett has spent years as a mild, methodical copy-reader on the New York Enterprise, with his pipe, paste-pot and stubs of pencil. When an inheritance sets him free, the romantic soul buried beneath the green eyeshade bursts out: he buys an old schooner, hires a skipper, finds a skull and stumbles into a plot full of villains, heroines and absurd peril.
A cheerful burlesque of swashbuckling romance by the humorist behind archy and mehitabel. Download the free EPUB.
