Harry Lorrequer, a young officer quartered in Cork, recounts a run of scrapes: private theatricals, an ill-starred courtship at Callonby, a priest’s riotous supper, mistaken identities, duels and a matrimonial blunder at Cheltenham, before his travels carry him across France and Germany in the company of the irrepressible Mr. O’Leary.
Lever’s first novel, with Phiz’s illustrations, is a rollicking classic of Irish military comedy. Download the free EPUB.
