Gerald Musgrave, a red-haired young gentleman of Lichfield struggling over a book, is visited by a spirit who offers to take over his ordinary life while Gerald journeys toward Antan, where he expects to become a god. On the road he meets a long series of women, each in some way a version of Eve, and each a distraction from his destiny.
A worldly, bawdy and elegantly mannered comedy from the author of Jurgen, part of his Biography of Manuel. Download the free EPUB.
