One of the Edwardian Shown to the Children series, this book gives a chapter to each common British tree, from the oak, beech and birch to the alder, hornbeam, hazel, lime, elms, ash, aspen and willows. Each is matched to one of Janet Harvey Kelman’s colour plates, with simple notes on leaves, bark, flowers, fruit and the uses people make of the wood.
A charming field guide for children and parents who want to learn the trees on their walks. Download the free EPUB.
