A Pretty Ambition
The mackerel-man drives down the street,
With mackerel to sell,
A-calling out with lusty shout:
“Ha-il, Mack-e-rel!”
When I’m a man I mean to drive
A wagon full of posies,
And sing so sweet to all I meet:
“Hail, Hyacinths and Roses!”
