The Fairy’s Bedtime

Just before they go to bed,
The fairy babes are told
To sit upon their toadstools, and
To be as good as gold.

So down they sit, all in a ring,
It’s supper-time, they know,
For look, their little acorn cups
Are standing in a row.

A fairy fills the little cups,
With dew and honey sweet
And gives one to each little babe
With something nice to eat.

Then off into the trees they fly
And curl themselves up tight
Inside a leaf that’s soft and warm,
And there they sleep all night.
