At Mrs. Villars’s school in a quiet corner of England, twenty pupils live happily until a bracelet is offered as a prize. The ambitious Cecilia and the gentle Leonora become rivals, and a sequel follows the girls as pride, a tempting china figure and a test of friendship show which qualities truly deserve reward.
A short moral tale by the pioneer of children’s fiction, valued by readers who enjoy Georgian schoolroom stories. Download the free EPUB.
