Mary Cary lives in the Yorkburg Female Orphan Asylum, and she wants you to know that plenty happens there. In her own frank, funny voice she describes the managers and matrons, the arrival of kind Miss Katherine, her own business schemes and the Christmas when those with money had no heart and those with heart had no money.
A tart and tender girls’ story in the vein of Daddy-Long-Legs, best enjoyed by readers who like spirited heroines. Download the free EPUB.
