Elizabeth Bruce, known as Betty, drops from head of the class to the bottom in a single morning at Wygate School, and that is only the start of her trouble. With her brother, her friends and a newcomer named John Brown, she hunts for pearls, braves ghosts and wishes aloud that she had been born a boy.
A cheerful Australian girls’ story, warm and full of mischief, for young readers and nostalgic adults. Download the free EPUB.
