Debby Alden, firm and set in her ways, has long planned that her young charge Hester should have a year at the best boarding school. After trouble with a spiteful neighbour and a scheming suitor, Hester is sent off to Miss Richards’ school, where roommates, rivalries, lessons and friendships put her character to the test.
A gentle school story for girls, with the warmth and moral earnestness of early twentieth-century juvenile fiction. Download the free EPUB.
