Nillywill, a princess hidden in a peasant’s cottage, and Hands-pansy, a poor boy with an honest heart, have kicked each other since they shared a cradle. Their story opens a collection of literary fairy tales that range from a Chinese fable and the way of the wind to a moon-stroke, a white doe, a gentle cockatrice and a jackdaw driven from his family for singing the praises of sorrow.
Housman’s tales are wistful, ironic and finely written, in the line of Andersen and Wilde. Download the free EPUB.
