Rudy, an orphan rescued as a baby from a glacier crevasse near Grindelwald, grows up into the boldest climber and marksman in the Swiss valleys. He loves Babette, the rich miller’s daughter, and to win her he must capture an eaglet from its nest, but the cold, beautiful Ice Maiden has never forgotten the child who escaped her.
