Drawing on Czech, Slovak and Moravian folklore collections such as Erben’s, Parker Fillmore retells the old stories freely for American children. Prince Bayaya, the helpers Longshanks, Girth and Keen, the hero who fetches the devil’s three golden hairs, the flaming horse, the three citrons and the bold Katcha who goes off with a devil are all here.
Lively, humorous retellings that bring Central European tales to English readers. Download the free EPUB.
