Eight of the tales come from Perrault’s Tales of Mother Goose: The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood, Puss in Boots, Little Tom Thumb, The Fairies, Ricky of the Tuft, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Blue Beard. Three later French tales are added, among them Mme Leprince de Beaumont’s Beauty and the Beast, all in A. E. Johnson’s translation.
