In the 1830s a British Legion under Sir de Lacy Evans went to Spain to fight for Queen Christina against the Carlists, and was so neglected by the government it served that thousands died of disease within months. Henty sends a young volunteer into this forgotten campaign, through sieges, guerrilla raids and political intrigue.
One of Henty’s last books, on a war few English readers know. Download the free EPUB.
