A naval surgeon turned boys’ author drew this hero from life: a bold, irrepressible lad who joins the Royal Navy and serves in the South Seas. Stables fills the story with his own experiences afloat, scenes of ocean, cloud and island shore, skirmishes ashore and the rough kindness of the lower deck.
A hearty Edwardian adventure for readers who enjoy Henty and Ballantyne, with the imperial outlook of its day. Download the free EPUB.
