On a June Saturday, Frank and Joe Hardy and their friends ride their motorcycles along Barmet Bay to a deserted house on the cliffs said to be haunted. Strange cries, empty tool boxes and a chase on the bay lead them to a ring of smugglers, and the brothers soon find their detective father caught up in the danger.
