Stalky, McTurk and Beetle smoke in a forbidden hut in the furze, outwit their housemaster Mr. Prout and the red-haired Sergeant Foxy, and carry out elaborate revenges on bullies and enemies. Drawn from Kipling’s own years at the United Services College, these linked stories follow the trio from mischief to the brink of the army careers the school was built to supply.
A rebellious, sharp-witted answer to the pious school story, and a source for many later tales of clever schoolboys. Download the free EPUB.
