Young Digby, heir to Bloxholme Hall, starts by poking his fingers into the housekeeper’s jam pots and plotting mischief with his sister Kate. A bad adviser named Julian leads him further astray, and between home, school, seaside sports, trawling trips, an old sailor’s naval yarns and a winter night when he is lost in the snow, Digby slowly learns what a gentleman owes to others.
A Victorian boyhood story by the prolific Kingston, with a strong moral line and much outdoor adventure. Download the free EPUB.
