Bert Lloyd is a lively Halifax boy who dreams of being a fireman or a soldier. Drawing on his own school-days, Oxley follows him by stage-coach to his grandfather’s farm, through temptations and a frightening disappearance, and on to school at Mr. Garrison’s, where questions of honesty and influence come to the fore.
A wholesome Canadian boyhood story with a strong Christian message, good for family reading. Download the free EPUB.
