The Runaway Rabbit cannot stay home: he packs his little brown bag, leaves his breakfast dishes and hops off past the Whistling Wind and the Smiling Sun. His rambles take him to Mother Bun’s house, an animals’ Fourth of July, the county fair and Bunny School, with little rhymes woven through every chapter. This is not the later picture book by Margaret Wise Brown.
