Polydore Marasquin, who keeps a menagerie of rare animals in the Malay seas and stuffs them for a living, is cast away on an island where monkeys are masters and treat him as one of their own. His ninety days among them are followed by shorter strange stories of men and animals, including a philosopher with his monkeys and a professor with a crocodile, with pictures by Gustave Doré.
An odd and amusing French Robinsonade for readers who enjoy animal comedy with a satirical edge. Download the free EPUB.
