The orphaned Tamby children travel the market towns of France in a caravan, performing with their animals at village fêtes and fairs. Led by a capable elder sister, they make friends, outwit a rascal who wants revenge, and rely on their elephant Nalla, who stampedes, plays pranks and comes to the rescue.
