Nannie, a South Down lamb with bright black eyes and a brownish-gray face, is brought home by Mr. Lee and becomes his daughter Minnie’s pet. Around Nannie’s story the author weaves true accounts of sheep: their attachment to home, their care for their young, life on a sheep farm and the work of the shepherd’s dog.
A mid-Victorian American nature story that mixes a child’s pet with plain facts about animals for young readers. Download the free EPUB.
