Compiled by John Monro Gibson for readers who knew Browning only as the author of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, this selection gathers his more approachable shorter poems. Here are “Home Thoughts, from Abroad”, “How They Brought the Good News from Ghent to Aix”, “The Boy and the Angel” and “Shop”, introduced by an essay on why the poet repays the effort.
A welcoming doorway into one of the great Victorian poets, ideal for those who find him daunting. Download the free EPUB.
