Sorley left Marlborough College for Germany, came home when war broke out and was killed as a captain in the Suffolk Regiment at the Battle of Loos at twenty. His poems include rook-haunted downs and Barbury Camp, East Kennet church at evening and the war verse that refused easy patriotism, prefaced by a short account of his life.
A slim, haunting book from one of the most promising poets lost in the First World War. Download the free EPUB.
