Thompson’s first collection, dedicated to Wilfrid and Alice Meynell, who rescued him from destitution on the London streets. It opens with the ‘Love in Dian’s Lap’ sequence addressed to Alice Meynell and goes on to ‘A Corymbus for Autumn’, ‘Dream-Tryst’ and ‘The Hound of Heaven’, his famous ode of a soul fleeing a pursuing God.
The book that made Thompson’s name and still the best place to meet the richest of the Catholic poets of the 1890s. Download the free EPUB.
