Francis Turner Palgrave, editor of The Golden Treasury, chose and arranged the finest lyrics of the Devonshire vicar-poet under themed headings. There are Herrick’s poems to his book and his muse, the country life and its festivals of Candlemas, May Day, harvest home and wassail, the fairy poems, the verses to Julia and other mistresses, and his tributes to Ben Jonson.
The sweetest songs of the Cavalier poets in one well-chosen volume, for anyone who loves the seventeenth-century lyric. Download the free EPUB.
